Club Operations Handbook & “To Do” Checklists
Use these checklists as self-evaluation tools to ensure your club is running smoothly and completing required tasks.
Sanctions – Exhibitions, Ice Shows, Carnivals
Anytime your club’s skaters are performing for an audience outside of your regular training sessions, a sanction is required. Competition organizers must request sanctions – please see Resources –> Planning a Competition. Likewise, exhibitions, carnivals, ice shows or other public performances of a non-competitive nature also require a sanction. For example:
- Skating during intermission at a hockey game
- Performing at a festival put on by your town
- Your club’s annual ice show or carnival
Sanction forms must be submitted to the SCNO office at least 14 days prior to the event, along with payment if applicable. Your club’s annual ice show or carnival is exempt from fees.
Club Handbook Template
This template may be customized by your club and makes an excellent “Parents’ Guide” to hand out to new skating families to familiarize them with the sport and your club. Fill in the pages near the back of the book with information specific to your club.
